Bordissot Negra Rimada Fig & Variegated Panache Mutation

Today we visit a very special tree, a vigorous Panache which has mostly been top-worked (grafted) to other varieties, including Bordissot Negra Rimada. Today we picked our first fruit of the year of this variety and it was outstanding! It was very delicious with a very good berry flavor of moderate intensity, moderate to very sweet, jammy and syrupy.

One branch of the original Panache was retained as it has been producing variegated leaves. This mutation has not been entirely stable so we continue to monitor it and enjoy the novelty.
