I had seen this feature when you showed the manufacturing of your hurdy gurdy, time ago. Yes. you can apply some interesting effects while playing. However, it would be even more interesting and practical if the screws had a knurled larger head, so you could unscrew them with your hand, instead of using a screwdriver. Think about... in the middle of a show... Maybe the luthier can implement this small and useful modification. (Sorry, I'll be a technician until I die.... LOL)

I really wish I had the musical talent to play a Gurdy! Your videos got me so into them. I love how they look and sound, but alas, I'll have to stick with my DND Bard's using it as their instrument, because I don't really have the talent to play one.... I can play an Ocarina a bit though

Maybe if you added a spring so you could press down to disconnect the wheel, you could change the hand crank to a thumb crank with some gears to multiply the thumb's angular velocity. That way, there's less repetitive stress on your wrist.
