Code Lyoko introduced a whole generation of children to every conceivable concept of horror compacted into one single character: XANA. This is my favorite show and the best, most iconic show ever made; and yes, this is the nostalgia speaking, but it is very, very great!

They only go back in time if it affected anything outside of their group, (Injury + Discovering/Damage of the lab or lyoko or A death is about to occur in the real world) unless they were able to trick the person who was affected that it was all their imagination or something completely natural, like a "wild boar" attack. The reason they didn't like going back in time is because it made X.a.n.a stronger every time because it doubled the processing power of the super computer.

this show was so good, i know its a kids shows, but it was very forward thinking, this is what we're facing now. AI coming to life and affecting the world outside, this is a pretty good exploration of what could happen

With what you called xana, your one of the first people that I've come across to actually get it right. I think more than often not, i find creators calling him/it a computer virus, not an ai. Yes, they do bring it up in the last episode of season 4 how it's 'like' a virus when talking about xana. That's the one thing that almost every single creator gets wrong.

I love the entirety of the show and to this day out of all the anime and cartoons out there that i have seen it is still very strongly in my top five. Although season one felt the most serious and the threats from xana and the situations felt much more dire for the most part and the undertone felt alittle more darker and mature and eye catching than the rest of the show. With that said my favorite episodes were when aelita finally came back to earth at the end of season one, start of season two and the episodes surrounding it

The only times where I think X.A.N.A was completely stupid were all the times he basically infected swarms of either insects, rats and, crows. Or at least the two times he sent his own monsters from Lyoko into the real world. He repeated things that knew failed the last time.

Xana must've had some kind of beef with Yumi in that show, cuz besides Aelita, Yumi legit had it the worst out of everybody else. Like bro tried to pack her ass up with a SPACE LAZER. Aint no way. 😭

Looking back, i can see why, out of everyone in the Lyoko squad, Yumi was the only one who was happy about the Super computer being shut down at the end of the series.
