Testing the Ricoh GR3 in Joshua Tree - Sample pictures

Taking the Ricoh GR3 out to Joshua tree to test it out on a run and for landscape.

I have to say, I agree with everything you said about GRIII. In my opinion it is a very unique camera. I have tried both the Leica Q and the X100V but the versatility of the GRIII is truly unique.
Even the files it generates are really of a very high standard.

My morning running route is along a river, and I've crossed paths with moose, beavers, herons, and plenty of other critters I like to shoot. After being frustrated by my phone's lack of realistic zoom, and watching one of your trail running videos, I thought of bringing a point and shoot, so I borrowed my mom's long abandoned 16MP Fuji FinePix F900 (from 2013) which has a tiny sensor and an equivalent focal length just over 500mm. Certainly can't compare to a FF sensor and a big lens... but I definitely am not fit enough to run with either 😅And sure enough, this morning I got a decent shot of a great blue heron stalking fish!

Small cameras are always handy to have with you. I've had an RX100 since it was first released. I think I'm on my fourth one now. I not only use it when I'm home, I take my RX100 vii with me every time I travel. Easy to use and they take great photos. I don't think I'll ever get used to doing photography with my phone regardless of how good they get.

Beautiful video. When you run, where do you keep your camera? Do you protect it in any way from sweat and vibrations? Thanks and good runs.

I also wanna use it for my trail running trips! I am planning to carry it in one of the water bottle pocket (on the shoulder) what do you think won’t be any problem for the camera if it shaking in the pocket during the run for hours? because of the ibis, in OFF mode something (sensor?) is moving all the time in the camera…
