Dr. Clevens | Laser Skin Resurfacing vs Injectables.

There’s often some confusion among our patients as to whether they are a better candidate for laser skin resurfacing or for fillers or injectables such as Juvederm or Restylane. The advantage to laser skin resurfacing is you can resurface a region such as around the mouth or the full face and those areas that you treat you are removing all the lines and wrinkles in that region. That’s different from a filler where you are generally using a filler to fill in individual lines and wrinkles. So a filler, such as Restylane or Juvederm, works best in isolated areas to fill the nasolabial folds, to lift the cheeks, to help address individual lines and wrinkles. As compared to laser skin resurfacing where you can treat a much bigger region and create a better improvement in lines and wrinkles throughout the full face as opposed to an individual region with the filler.
