44% of the trees were dead from the pine beetle. It’s was only time. If they would have got rid of the trees around the town it probably would have had a better chance of

these parks are SO expensive to visit and are not for the average Canadian. businesses there are pricing for international tourists, so locals spend their money elsewhere. ive given up on these places. good luck

Banff was still extremely busy on the August long weekend! My heart goes out to the people of Jasper.

Easiest way to judge wealth or status. How many times per year do you leave the country to vacation.
0 = you are poor
1-2 = middle class
2-4 = well off
For lunch = you rich.

Canada does a bad job at protecting its towns from forest fires.

I think extensive logging should be allowed around all towns threatened by forest fires.

Sucks that this natural beauty is gone for a long time.. Hilarious that this affects the most conservative climate change deniers in the country 😂

As of 2022, China 🇨🇳 was by far the world's largest *coal* consumer with 55% of energy use, an increase of 2% of the total energy from the year before.
So China is accelerating the use of coal despite it having signed the Paris agreement.

So as usual it's the economy that's the problem. I have read the comments about the pine beetles which is true but they've done their damages because it's just not cold enough to kill them over winter. The climate continues to heat up much quicker than people are thinking. Put up a map of what's burnt in the last ten years?
