Unfortunately most new technologies are purloined by the military first to see what possible adaptations can be made for military use, after which they are released to into the world with little to no forethought or oversight as to the possible ramifications. I’d love to see any new technologies withheld until enough in-depth studies are done to consider the moral, ethical and economic implications of its’ release. That of course, implies that we are dealing with responsible governments and corporations, which is, unfortunately, far from the truth.
