Yay!! I'm so glad you're doing Shorty Sept again! I LOVE Patricia Highsmith, but I always forget that I really want to read her less popular books. The Glass Cell sounds wild - I'll see what you think of it before I decide if I want to put it on my list 😅❤❤.

I love that you are back on the series! Now, if we can just get a Gor book in here somewhere...

I don't want September weather but love Shorty September. The Survivalist does look like an old school badass book.

Good luck with your September reading. I saw Willow raving about Beast in the Shadows, sounds interesting.

Johnny got his gun is incredible- completely transformed my understanding of war when I read it in high school. Excited to see what you think!

A great selection of books Olly! Once Were Warriors is a powerful, brutal film, uncomfortable but enjoyable watch. I am dying to get my hands on Johnny got his gun, but sounds very disturbing. Bag Of Bones is also a September read for me. 😀

When you've recently bought a monstrous number of books and you see one you 100% intend to buy anyway no matter what - blame fate! 😂

Johnny Got His Gun is one of the very best books I have ever read, or expect to read.

Bag of Bones is such a great book. It's always on my "to be re-read" pile, along with Duma Key. I'm not sure why I associate the two novels with each other, but I suspect they were released during roughly the same time period.

So glad you've made a Shorty tbr, Olly! The Lost Weekend is such a brilliant and brutal book - same goes for the film. I'm also doing an Edge for my historical read - can't wait to get back to that series, edge is such a d*ckhead 😂 couldn't make it through Johnny Got His Gun, because I'm feeble and it made me nauseous.. 😵 Have a fun September, buddy! Bert x
