Here it is!!

Been waiting for an age....but finally its here!

Initial reaction, very pleased. Heavy old lump, and as its my first Heljan Steam loco, a few oddities!

The tender release screws are on the top of the tender...inspired! No need to invert the loco! The brake rigging isn't a clean fit but that can be sorted and for some reason, even though the thing was quite clearly unopened from the factory, the wheels were filthy!

So much so that even though it ran well on the rolling road as I installed the chip, on the track it faltered....for a moment I thought I was going to have to take it back but some meth's and a fibreglass brush application later 4706 runs like a watch across the speed range.

Hi mate nice review. I have one on order but have come close to cancelling it due to all the problems. I don't understand why your wheels should have been dirty, that is most odd. Have subbed
