750mc Hot Hatch 2017 Rockingham Race 1

Some racers are good racers, some racers are forgetful, and some are the reason you go racing at all.
This was one of those, full of highs, lows, mistakes, recoveries and non stop on the edge fun.
Before going out it was a tense moment trying to decide on tyre choice as it started sprinkling just as we were called, but a delay from the race before meant we were pushed back to after lunch, and a sunny patch arrived and we all stayed on dry tyres...thankfully.
The car was substantially better than it has been for a long time, things are coming together and the crazy oversteer is drastically reduced, but I still have to be careful of turning in with a trailing brake.
The new brakes were being used in anger for the first time over prolonged period, so they weren't up to their best, althogh still very good, they started to gas out or similar, and felt like they were getting a bit toasty in the second half of the race.
All in all, satisfied with the result, but what a great race for the series and class.

Amazing. I don't think i've watched a race and been that 'into' it in a long time, it got me hyped! As you say towards the end, the variety of cars makes for some VERY interesting racing...

I really prefer these sorts of cars racing; sure I love Formula 1, and GT racing, but there is something a bit more interesting when the cars are literally just modified cars you could buy yourself and drive; I watch the Continental Tire series in the US as well for this very reason; the variety is interesting (similar to how it was in the 60's little Mini's doing battle with gigantic Ford Galaxies which were both fast in completely different areas). Dig your channel Ben, I wish you the best in all your racing affairs :)

Fun video! The wheelbase of the dc2 and the eg is identical, I suspect the dc might weigh a bit more but I'm not sure.

Great race I enjoyed that. I don't really watch other people's race videos I find them boring but somehow you make it exciting to watch! Close racing also helps. How did you record the commentary that's a nice that I'd like to do that on mine?

I'm still not a fan it never been good to me 🙈 was a good race your right shame it couldn't have lasted a little longer but my front had gone to higher starting pressure
