It was obvious after A day that Milroe is a mess. He cannot read defenses, he throws uncatchable passes, and panicks and runs. Saban has blown it in recruiting.

I'm 💯💯 in agreement this is Tommy Reece walking into the QB room and saying, " Do any of y’all think I'm playing with you about stepping up your game, and getting better, and putting in the work!" I honestly believe Saban, and Reece are checking the gut and grit in our QB room. If you're a quitter quit now!

The ONLY reason BAMA wanted Milroe in the first place was to keep him away from Texas at the time when Herman was the coach because they knew they would play them in the future.

He NEVER fit the system or the direction they were going offensively, and they've given him opportunities to assert himself.

He's probably better off at a place like UTAH.

I don’t understand what this fanbase isn’t getting .. The staff that we trust with everything because they know 50 times more than WE do does not believe they have what they need in the QB room in who we saw in the spring game.. so they’re bringing in someone who fits the new Ocs system and has run it.. it’s really simple ?

I'm with you Jimmy, Ty did look better . After watching the game again Ty did fine but I'm more worried about receivers catching the ball

I think Ty’s injury has played a big part in this decision.

I think part of the strategy here is just to get another guy in the QB room who knows and understands the offense. It also increases depth and competition.

Jalen throws up the ball for grabs sometimes and he did that again in the A day game. That was never going to work. If Buckner is the best guy we can get, probably we’re lucky to bring a quality guy in.

Julian Sayin, is going to be the next first rounder. He is our qb of the future. I'll be shocked if he doesn't start as a true freshman. This kid is the best qb in the country, and I'll include the past 2 years also!! He is way beyond his years, and I've seen him in person!!

Ty Simpson is going to be our qb this year!! I have no doubt, I've heard to much inside talk. At least part of it is true.

Probably the best commentary from both of you in a long time. Luke you are correct it is weird. Jimmy your take makes sense that perhaps Milroe was already headed out knowing he wasn’t the clear cut number 1. Great show guys. RTR

Something has to be going on behind the scenes to make them do this. No way they even have Buchner come in and work out for them in the first place if not. What is going on behind the scenes, I won’t pretend to know. But I figure either someone is leaving, or the staff just don’t think any current roster players are showing them enough and they want Buchner as insurance/competition.

Buchner rated one QB slot ahead of Milroe on two major recruiting services, showed some good, some bad, and some undeniable promise at ND. The same can be said about Milroe thus far at Alabama. If true, sorry to see Milroe go BUT, Simpson, Buchner, plus two promising Freshmen this year and Sayin next position is flowing with talent and potential.

"None of us expected this." EVERYBODY expected one of Simpson/Milroe to be leaving, based on who was headed towards being the backup. Picking up a former top 100 recruit/top 7 QB in Buchner, with starting experience at a top 10 school is a major "get." Buchner is the buffer between the starter and 2 true freshmen on a team with national aspirations

I think Saban can see the only position potentially holding this team back from being special is QB! He’s trying to give this team the best chance at winning a title. Buchner can be the game manager this team needs who will be able to make the throws when called upon. Ty is still just a RS-freshman so I think he has plenty of time. Julian Sayin is coming in next year so the forecast is strong for us at the QB position. But we need someone who can win NOW! I think Buchner is gonna be the guy. Imo he was called upon before he was ready at ND but good for us is that Tyler is developed now and ready to fill the role.
