Let’s face it! Natalie doesn’t want Mike. He’s basically just a back up plan to stay in America. I recall her calling Mike “low-class.” Natalie wants a “Hollywood” man with money to live the glamorous life she’s always dreamed of.

I really don’t think Natalie
is as difficult to work out as the show is making out, Mike sold her the American dream, that American dream did not satisfy her, rather than continue to both suffer she left but she depended on him financially. Josh seemed like everything she wanted but he is non committal & already has children so suddenly the grass didn’t seem greener on the other side. Perhaps without Mike’s Mum sticking her nose in that relationship could have worked, space has done Natalie some good & she has realised Mike knows her better than anyone & is the big, warm, provider she dreamt of. But unfortunately they did not get on, she could not deal with the isolation of where they lived (she’s a city girl) and his Mum, those issues have not changed, same as their love for one another is still there, but love sometimes isn’t enough, that’s why she can not answer their questions, it’s not that cut & dry.
