Timex Allied Tide-Temp-Compass - Unusually USEFUL Complications?

Here's my review on an interesting Timex - you heard that right - an interesting TIMEX with some fairly unusual complications that actually come in handy more than some of your more "traditional" complications. Find out what this watch has to offer and what kind of experience I had with this watch in the week that I had it.

The bezel IS SUPPOSED TO TURN for the compass function. My mistake. Carry on!

The reason the bezel moves is so you can use it while navigation when your hiking to be able to rotate the bezel really helps.

I had the cream face witch silver and brown strap, I lost it a few years ago. Today, to refresh my memory or the functions I had delivered it in black! I'm over the moon! It's very fitting of my lifestyle! I spent weeks looking for a watch. And all I had in mine was this black one. And I went for black just incase my original showed up! Maybe. Maybe not

I've had this tide-temp-compass but mine is the expedition series. 10+ years and no issues. Got mine for $100

Obviously you have never went orienteering. The reason the bezel moves is so you can align the north indicator with the red hand when it is pointing north. As long as both indicator and hand are lined up you will always know which way you are traveling. Pretty basic stuff.

The compass bezel needs to rotate in order for the user to follow a specific azimuth. For instance if you rotate the bezel with 120 degrees at the top (12 o'clock) position, rotate your body until the north seeking arrow aligns with the North indicator "N" on the bezel. An azimuth of 120 degrees is straight ahead to your front.

I've seen this watch in different colors and different prices. I like this black one better but I won't spend $200 on it when I can buy Orient Kamasu Red dial for almost the same price. Great review.

I like the moving bezel and use it as a chronograph. Now in 2023 it moves well. Functions once tuned, work well. Other finish short-falls the author mentions, have been improved.

You need the compass bezel to rotate to actually use it properly. My understanding. Is you like the hour hand up with the sun and rotate the bezel so that south is between the hour hand and 12oclock.

I have blue and white one battery died so in the draw it went for few years.had new battery in but no go any 😣help

Shame you can't see the tide indicator in the dark as the indiglo misses that dial. This is a feature I really need (night fishing).

The bezel moves to aid on navigation helping you check your azimuth and allows you to course correct, it serves a purpose. Great video though!

This is a 249 dollar watch now but still seems like one of the fewer watches with most of my needs. Especially the compass

I have about every compass watch Timex has ever made along with the temp, compass and tide. The BEZEL HAS TO MOVE for the COMPASS function!!
