At least three soldiers fainted during the rehearsal of Trooping the Colour as temperatures reached 29C.

Prince William praised the troops who did a “really good job” under “difficult conditions”.

The temperatures under the direct sun are amplified on the concrete.
Add to that, standing still and not moving or circulating your blood to cool down, it can happen to the best of them.
The first thing you're taught is to never lock your knees, and if you feel yourself fading, drop to one knee before you fall over. Yeah, some of us have been there.

My son's passing out parade in the Navy was last June, in Plymouth. It was boiling and they had to stand march, etc for more than an hour during the ceremony. I felt so bad for them. Luckily no one collapsed.

Now that we are enduring climate change, if the king wants to modernize, then he could push to change the materials used for uniforms used in the hotter summers

Very hot day for the squaddies and the tunics are very thick .. the royal household totally understand that these things happen as they were in the forces themselves..

When I was a kid I lived near an army base. Every year we went to watching the Passing Out Parade… once you’ve seen soldiers dropping like flies every year the name passing out parade takes on a whole different meaning.
