I think the most unrealistic part of these scenarios is the timeframe. With nuclear war, it's all or nothing. I do not think a strike on Berlin would result in gradual escalation, within a few hours it's the end and there would be no going back. I pray that nuclear threshold is never crossed even for tactical weapons, and that sensible human beings will stage immediate coups on any leader attempting a first use
