In this video we take on the challenge of getting my VW Fox started and driving. In the previous video we managed to mount up a 1.8T GTI engine into the Fox from a polo donor car, but the we couldn't continue the project as we needed custom wiring looms to make everything work. In this video we get our hands on the looms we need, but can we get the Fox GTI running and driving? This VW Fox GTI is the hot hatch (performance hatchback car) that Volkswagen never actually made because the VW Fox is a economy/commuter model, but now with the new GTI engine in, it is a proper sleeper car (fast sleeper).

After this project here's a good idea. Take a 1.8T engine from a corolla T sport and slap it into an aygo.

8:15 man you have to be so careful getting under a car on jack stands. If you notice the left front stand was only sitting on 2 or 3 of its feet. This is super dangerous and should've been checked for your own safety. When working around cars, it's paramount you check these things like it's your first time jacking a car up every time. I dont mean to come off as rude or condescending, I just want you to keep safe. Love your stuff

Nice work man! Absolutely love it, you don't see a lot of quick Foxes lol. Btw, don't forget to replace those engine mounts. They're quite bad if I look at how much the engine moves

The genuine look of both fear and excitement on his face is priceless. Love to see the younger generation working on cars. Although the type of cars may not be my cup of tea, it's just good to see a proper young gearhead.

This definitely seems to be going far smoother than MCM's UP GTi conversion 🤣

Hey up fella, when you did the fuel system, didn't see you remove the regulator from the intank pump, if you find the engine overfuelling, it's because the fox (mine did anyway) has 4 bar regulator on the return in the tank. For me was causing 25% fuel trim issues. 1.8t has regulator on the rail ofc.

(also my teacher has a VW Fox.. with a fuel leak and a dent in the boot lol)😂

Brakes, wheels and suspension should be a good swap from the Polo to the Fox. Interior could be good as well. Then it should come out as a Vw Folox GTI...

If you need help getting it tuned etc, give Tuning Technics a shout he's a wizard with the 1.8T 👍

Take the brakes/booster etc from the gti too

With the vw electrical plugs push them together first this will take the pressure of the clip then you won't break them
Hope this helps

You should take the rear axel for rear discs and pads, front hubs and suspension from the polo. I’m sure the fox is based on the polo so it should all just fit. I’d also swap the interior over as the polo looks much better

Any plans for fitting the gti rims and adapting the gti front grille into it?
Maybe the seats and steering wheel as well?
That would make it looks really sweet tbh. :D
