Tamiya WWII aircraft models are a lot of fun to build. This kit lived up to the reputation. I decided to go light on the weathering to give it a like new look. I think my Vallejo Nigh Blue was a bit too dark a shade of navy blue but I am still happy with the results. Enjoy the build and thanks for stopping by the garage.

The Tamiya 1/48 Vought F4U-1A Corsair Model Airplane Kit faithfully recreates one of the most recognizable aircraft used during WWII. The F4U-1A variant of the Corsair featured an updated canopy, longer tailwheel strut, bombing window and 6-inch Stall Strips to improve carrier landing. Powered by a 2,250hp water-injected Pratt & Whitney R-2800-8W radial engine, this version of the Corsair, equipped with drop tanks, had a maximum range of over 1,500 miles. This version is the United States Marine Corps VMF-111 "Devil Dogs", No. 122 that flew for the Gilbert Islands Campaign in September of 1944.

Awesome model, good job. These WWII planes're always best in this bigger scale than usual.

Yo brother, I like your work. I am new to the hobby. I recently acquired a TAMIYA series 46 F4U corsair, but it has no instructions. Could you possibly download them in a PDF file and Email them to me?
