Russian stocks suspended on Trading212 - what could happen!?

Wow mate that's terrible, trying to work out what's worse currently, investing in tech stocks or Russian stocks. 83% down, that deep.

Back in April 2020 bought Gazprom and rosneft. Sold both in November last year. As wanted to consolidate my single positions into ets. Glad I did now. Still have a large exposure to Russia mainly Through ishares sedy etf.

Let's hope sanity prevails and the war ends soon with a peaceful outcome.

Will be keeping a eye on the situation in relation to the ETFs and income funds that could respond well to peace.

Would not be looking to buy in until sanctions are lifted even if I could.

Sucks to be hit like that. Like you say, its always a possibility to lose your investment, and it hurts, hence why it's important to diversify. I also think this is an example of why it's worth including a PESTLE analysis as part of stock research. Social, ethical, political and legal risks playing out here.

Quite good how most of us had higher gains than you but now we're down your still up - well done.

Granted alot of us did take profits and put elsewhere but I'm now in red but in terms pf money put in I'm up

Just a tip Paul, sure you know this already but just in case, it should let you sell (if you wanted to of course) just got to move that stock out of your isa into manual investments and then sell.. thanks

It's a moral question too. Why would anyone put their money in Russian companies that fund indirectly this war and the killing of innocent civilians. They were a peaceful county that wanted only to develop like other countries in Europe

I got into Rosneft oil and I bought into the dp xtracker MSCI russia capped etf the correction happened on literally the morning I got paid so I got excited and I invested something like £1000 in about 10 minutes and then I spent that afternoon realising that wasn’t the bottom 🤣
