The truth of the matter is that this is mostly our global powers fault, or simply put our governments. They are the one's we put in charge to manage not only our lives, but the future of Earth The main culprit is money. It cost money to do the right thing. They are putting a tax on this and that for things that really don't benefit our well being and safety. A lot of things tax payer foot the bill for is spent and often abandoned, yet is added to the so-called national debt for future generations to worry about, then they have the nerve to spend more money on things that not everyone can benefit from. When stories like this break, its pointless. No pun intended, but they are responding by blowing a lot of hot air. We have aged infrastructure like bridges that collapse and pipes that delivers contaminated water, but they are not putting this on top of their things to do list because of budget issues. My point is, why dose humanity hold back funding and allocate them to fit the needs of personal agendas like The Wall and sell the idea of it as if this is all that matters, so "vote for me", but can't provide funding to maintain our infrastructure to keep humanity safe? When the time comes, for anything to do with the well being of humanity their excuse is that they don't have enough money to pay for it, but billions of dollars in aid in sent not only to Ukraine, but other parts of the world. Afghanistan is an example. The US put in seemingly trillions in to Afghanistan to improve their infrastructure with roads and technologies and spent money training them for almost 20 years for the big day and when that day came, the Taliban took over at the blink of an eye. Meanwhile, we have our homeless population increase dramatically as money was spent elsewhere. Whats the point of reporting stories about climate change when our governments are too incompetent to do the right thing? It not just The US. Its not just Democrats. Its everyone who is granted power to control.
