How Well Does FSD 13.2.2 Work In Rush Hour Traffic In NYC?

Testing FSD 13.2.2 in NYC for the last time this year. Too many cars and pedestrians, had to disengage a few time due to FSD not being assertive enough. Wasn't bad by any means. But had to end the video a little earlier due to being stuck in traffic for too long.

Good video. I would recommend trying not to disengage whenever it doesn't do anything unsafe, just to see how it reconciles the mistakes it makes. If Tesla wants to achieve full autonomy with existing HW4 vehicles, it needs to be able to safely recorrect mistakes it makes at least when supervised, nonetheless unsupervised. But yeah, the aim is make the car create the least amount of these decisions as possible.

I think the disengagement at 4:20 is unnecessary, because it is not dangerous in any way. FSD may have its own idea, which might be interesting to find out. Also, I think should tolerate some inefficiency of autonomous driving as long as it is safe

Appreciate the stress test!
FSD 13 getting better overall. Dense city driving is improving but still a bit of a struggle during rush hour. It needs to develop a very very slow creep so it can slowly move past pedestrians so it doesn't block oncoming traffic or hold up traffic behind for too long.
Hard for FSD to find this balance between aggressiveness and taking time in these situations

4:50 you should at least let fsd make an attempt here. You can’t just take over because you think “I just don’t think fsd will be certain enough to do so (make the turn).”what if you were wrong?

Self-driving through rush hour with the navigation map feels like navigating through veins—it's madness. Fortunately, the car drives itself!

I don’t know what mistake does it make at 20:22? You can’t turn left when green light is on?

At least let the car do its thing for once bro. Why use it if you not gon let it drive all the way.

Experiences like this advance FSD. This is the worst traffic situation anywhere.

You should trust FSD more! I think it would have definitely handled some of the situations where you took over. Let it correct itself, even if it makes mistakes

Okay this is bothering me quite a bit because I cannot find a single mention of it anywhere but... How the heck did you get the blinker effect on the ambient lighting, yet having different colors at the same time ??
I was in NYC last summer and gosh traffic here is something else... You got nerves of steel letting FSD handle it !

The blinker shows intent.. so why not let it on even when you are standing still

It is not a problem if you block 3 lanes to wait for pedestrians. You will never succeed to proceed if you will wait on your own lane... the car NEEDs to be assertive.. you yourself took the bus lane to proceed in a certain situation..so blocking some lanes sometimes to proceed is not an issue...

This is the meat & potatoes of city driving.
Stop & go traffic. Slow or stuck for an hour or more.
Cars squeezing in. Pedestrian weaving between stuck cars.
Cars stuck in intersections. Ugly, but real & common.

It is dangerous to be overconfident in autonomous driving. A passenger plane crashed due to overreliance on the autopilot.

why do you drive the car yourself? Let the car get out of the parking spot...

Wow FSD has lots of disengagements.

I don’t think it’s very good.
