Zakynthos 2023 - Snorkeling and Freediving Adventure

We saw some Loggerheadturtlles, Lionfish, Cuttlefish and a lot of outher fishes while diving in Zakynthos.

While we are on the way to our next location.
Let me tell you a sad story we expirienced when we wanted to take a taxi boat to Marathonisi also called "Turtle Island".
Our Skipper didn't take us to the island and instead took a sharp turn to the left. He drove the little boat in between 2 big Glassbottom Ships each with 30+ people on board and 3 smaller boats.
In this moment all i thought was "please let there be no turtle".

The second this came to my mind a guy on the big boat already yelled "TURTLE DOWN THERE TO THE RIGHT!".

I asked our skipper if he was fucking serious and if he doesn't see that this is pure horror for the turtle beeing surrounded by so many boats not holding any kind of distance but he was more shocked by my strong reaction rather than by what was going on. I yelled at the other passengers if this is really what they wanna pay money for but nobody seemed to care.

I told him we don't want to participate in this and he should take us back to the harbor immediately where the boss of the company cared even less.
For me this was one of the worst moments ever. So many people makeing money out of turtles without respecting their habitat. And the fact that even more people finding joy in this animal torture and takeing pictures breaks my heart.

Please don't do turtle spotting tours - Go out snorkeling, and let the turtles find YOUUUU.

its really sad the tourism in greece because they take advantage of tourists money and they mostly dont care about the wild life and especially in greek islands they overprize the food and anything . And thank you for you little attention at the turtlles
