An overview of the Jamis Renegade Elite bicycle. I've ridden this bike for more than 2,900 miles on gravel, asphalt, and trails. Great bike!

Good review; concise yet comprehensive. I'm thinking about buying the 2017 Renegade Exploit. The only thing I'm not sure about is its external top tube mounted cable routing on that model. Do you think that matters? I think I might still be able to fit a "gas tank"/top tube bag and frame bag. I'm comparing it with the 2017 Specialized Sequoia Elite and the Renegade Exploit seems to have higher quality steel, possibly a more compliant fork, more room for accessories on the handlebars, a more complete 105 groupset, and better overall value. It has about 2mm or so less tire clearance, but 40mm seems like plenty.

Great review brother! Would you recommend this bike over a road bike as a daily ride? I ride a long stretch of HWY and go through some rough roads. I've never ridden a CX bike but im not sure if I should get one over a road bike. I'm a beginner when it comes to cycling and I ride a Schwinn 700c Prelude Road Bike. I want to get something that will be worth dropping the money for my long rides every day to work.
