"Spent 18 hours waiting stoned for space
I spent the same 18 hours in the same damn place
I'm on a road shaped like a figure 8
I'm going nowhere, but I'm guaranteed to be late" - Modest Mouse

If it begins finite, or was at any point in the past finite, then it is presently finite and always will be finite unless the property of infinitude is somehow bestowed upon it, externally.

Space warps infinitely more than Alex's facial expressions.

This topic may be giving me bad anxiety and death thoughts, but I’m happy I found people who agree with me! The universe (maybe even multiverse) is an infinite, forever existing, and flat place, we should leave at that! I don’t know why scientists like making those scary “universe will end/be destroyed” or “universe has edge” theories, they’re truly horrifying!

I think it's a little erroneous to claim that the universe is infinite by this analogy of being unable to measure it. It may expand infinitely, but the fact that it expands is conceptually based on finity.

Anything infinite is changing, so anything changing is infinite. Just not necessarily in a dimension we are considering. Coefficients matter, conventional infinity concepts notwithstanding. Empirically we know this. Once inch worth of infinitesimal points is less than two such inches.

The thing that really warps my brain is this: If space is expanding, then what is it expanding into?

It being finite to begin with makes no sense, because what does it exist in? It has always been infinite.

I think that's a new term of Infinity. Well Alex said "operationally speaking", cause the truth is nothing can be infinite if is expanding. When we said something is expanding we have to determine that it has Bounders. The definition of Expansion: the increase of something in size, number, or importance. For me is clear that something cannot be expanding and be infinite.

Looks like space is hurting his head just as much as mine 😂

"the yardstick isn't long enough to measure the universe, therefore it is infinite" that sounds like BS. If light travelled instantaneously you would be able to measure the actual size? Am I missing something? The inflation is exponential, so you should be able to tell the exact moment in time when the universe went from a rapidly inflating sphere to infinity? I'm so confused

"We have to remove consciousness from the equations to truely understand how the universe works". Human perception gives us time, 'the conscious measurement of motion'. Without motion there would be no time, without a mind, there would be no time. We have to Think of things from an inanimate objects point of view, a ball! A ball has no front or back, so no forwards or backwards, it only exists as a constant thing, which happens to move, it has no memory so no past, it has no foresight so has no future, it's just moves, with movement comes change. And we the observer measure that change to create a time. We count. To remove ourselves we must remove our skin 'heat', eyes 'light', ears, 'sound'. Then you are ready to imagine the universe how it truely is.

Even a really small hypersphere is infinite, is it not?

Could someone that's smarter than me explain how light can't catch up to the expansion of the universe if light speed is the fastest speed?

hey Mr editer of these vids, what's up?

So basically the Universe is “functionally” infinite.

The universe is infinite because it's just an illusion in the invisible minds of MEN ( male and female ) created by our Creator. Think of yourself as the MIND experiencing life in a simulated universe and the body you see yourself in as the avatar. This is what life is that is created as information first before any visible object can be observed.

I like how cavitation looks😏... of particles as big as Mt Everest.😶🐇

Us thinking that the universe is infinite is like an animal thinking it’s immortal because it has no concept of self.
