Boris Johnson told off by Speaker John Bercow for sexism

John Bercow, the Speaker of the House of Commons, tells off the foreign secretary for using 'inappropriate and sexist' language.

Boris Johnson referred to the shadow foreign secretary as Lady Nugee. Emily Thornberry is married to Sir Christopher Nugee but goes by her maiden name. Bercow said it was sexist to address people by the titles of their spouses rather than their actual names

John Bercow did what he is meant to do. Put order in the house. A fine example. Then you have Paul Ryan who does not speak at all.

No matter your political standing, John Bercow is one of the greatest House of Commons Speaker. Even his own party has tried to get rid of him numerous times. The man has huge respect from me and my family, even if he is tory he will tell anyone off. He is also one great public speaker.

So frustrating that these positive behaviours from the speaker are given absolutely nowhere near the same level of attention as poor behaviours from public figures. Bravo Mr Bercow
