NHS Crisis: Hospitals under 'significant pressure' during strikes this week

Junior doctors are set to strike from 6.59am on Tuesday 11 April to 6.59am on Saturday 15 April for a total of 96 hours, amid demands for a 35% pay rise.

The strikes will bring "immense pressures" to staff and services, NHS England has warned, with people urged to avoid "risky behaviour" that could land them in hospital.

Don't be angry at the doctors, be angry at the ghouls who refuse to pay them a fair wage. You'd strike too in their position

Fun fact MP's are paid more than doctors in this country but MP's dont have to do any meaningful work for thier salary whatsoever

This ghost is coming back to haunt the Government. Year on year they have suffered below inflation rises, as a pensioner, I can identify with this. The Government uses moral and psychological blackmail in the face of their dedication. The only reason the claim is unrealistic is because of the years the Government has dragged their feet in paying them what they deserve. The conservatives have lost my support on this debacle and the premiere election process. A number of previous PMs had no honesty or integrity and were outright liars, but Sunak beats them all.

The only time that the nhs has not been under pressure was during the lock downs when we were all 'protecting' it

If Bus drivers hold councils to ransom and get 17 pound per hour to drive a bus surly junior doctor's are worth 20 pound per hour with the amount of hours they put on a shift, maybe reverse rolls the doctors could drive the buses and what could the bus drivers do, not a lot.

Should stop paying Locum GPs £220 an HOUR to sit and hand out paracetamol + cold medicine.

Their hourly rate pays for two carers for a whole day, for the elderly or those with the most need.

I hate paying for the nhs, no dentists, no gp appointments, death in the a&e. it should focus only on emergency services and privatise the rest so that NIC contributions aren't just wasted on a bureaucratic mess. Most nhs workers are demoralised and only do the useless bare minimum and would be fired from any non-governmental job.
No taxation without effective services!

If government sector workers go on strike then we the people shouldn’t have to pay taxes

The government need to wake up for goodness sake, stop paying agency so much money!!! More permanent staff needed. Its obvious the government are trying to privatise the NHS, we are all doing our best under increased pressure!!! NHS staff are suffering, depression, anxiety, the list is endless I've witnessed over 40 staff ++ leave in the last few years its so frustrating 😢
