Forget gen x, we were a generation that partied hard, lived life and still rock. My kids are constantly bouncing when I play my trance and techno. Man, I feel so alive when this music plays.

As a youngster growing up in this era this music in nightclubs at the weekend was all you lived for !

Now im 40 and its 60 hour weeks at work, hefty mortgage, raising kids and if i manage to get out to a bar say oncest a month then i consider myself lucky haha ! Man how the years just fly by huh? To any youngsters reading this i know the worlds a pretty shitty place right now but damn get out there and enjoy your youth as much as you can cos trust me its gone in a heartbeat !!

Been listening to trance since I was 10 because of my 30 year old mother. She loved the music then. She is no longer here and all this reminds me of is her and her memory and the times when everything was so different.


There was no facebook.
There was no iphones.
Kids were outside everyday on their bikes, not their ipads.


It was a completely different world. A much better one. Can we turn back time?

I was 22 in 1990 and was lucky enough to experience this era - no worries or cares just great times with great mates at all night raves - listening to this takes me right back to that feeling of euphoria- nothing will ever equal it and now at 54 it feels like it was just yesterday - yet also a lifetime ago - wish I could go back to then in my bedroom blasting the Space Brothers cd and my dad shouting up the stairs to 'turn that rubbish down' while my mam loved it and just ignored him. Both mam and dad long gone now and much missed - the years go so quickly and theres things I wish I had and hadn't done but I'll always be grateful I lived through the music of the 80s and 90s - when music was part of our lives and there was a tune for every emotion - we really did live it back then- no need for mobiles or internet and nothing has or ever will equal the tunes of those days - I'd give anything to turn the clock back and be driving along the Sunderland coast in my Cortina with my best mate with these tunes blasting out of the tape deck!! - happy days man!!❤
