Cutting your cuticles (eponychium) increases the risk of developing allergies to gels and polishes. It might look clean, but it's not clean because you're cutting skin meant to protect you. A better solution is to develop the habit of frequently using cuticle oil (daily cuticle oil, at least twice a day) and gently pushing back the cuticle (once every couple of days) with an orange stick. You'll find the cuticle recedes on its own. Cuticle nippers are meant to help with hang nails, not to cut the dry lifted eponychium.

I actually really really like your vids, however, recently, i feel that most of them you have posted recently have been sponsorships and they just don't have the same feel and vibe to them like they did 2/3 years ago. I'm all for you doing you and getting your bag and stuffs, but just feels like something is missing from them... I don't know how to explain it and i don't mean any disrespect I just hope you're okay and doing well. x

First of all, at first I thought you painted the French tips but it turned out to be press-ons! I'm very impressed by how they don't look like press-ons and look as if you went to an actual nail salon, well done! Secondly, however, I'm a bit confused by your prep. I think that if you're gonna use the cuticle remover, it's best to use it in the beginning before pushing the cuticles. That way it's gonna be easier to push them back and I think will eliminate the need to use the nail drill. Of course, you can do a dry manicure, aka forfeiting the cuticle remover, I just couldn't comprehend how the cuticle remover helped with cutting the eponychium all that much. If anything, it might trick you into cutting deeper into the skin, even though you did a great job with the nippers.

I learnt doing mani and pedi at home by watching your videos back in 2016..2017. I get compliments all the time where my friends say they look like I got it done by a professional! ♥️
Thank you for putting out these videos and helping us.

As a licensed nail tech, you do not need to wear those gloves. The uv is so minimal in those lights it’s the same as stepping outside for a few mins. And most of the lights are LED which means “light emitting diode” which isn’t real UV rays. We always trim cuticles, as long as you aren’t cutting actual live skin it will not open your cuticle up for infection.

I cut my cuticles. It’s satisfying and makes the nails the star of the show without backup dancers (cuticles and hang nails) 😂

I absolutely cut my cuticles for the same reason as you. Russian manicure vibes. & I use the same cuticle “milk” it’s the best hands down.

Girl…🥺 I’m so sorry but I can’t look at your cuticle preparation. Yes, first of all it’s good to push the cuticles back- gentle, but the way that you use the drill is so wrong🥺- it has nothing with Russian manicure, please do t say that. Let’s look at your thumb’s nail plate- it isn’t smooth as it should be. You probably demaged the nail matrix. When you apply the press on it’s easy to have air pockets- it’s perfect environment to make Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Second, the liquid that you use to remove the cuticles- it have strong ingredients that can make your skin peel of. It’s important to neutralize it with water after few seconds when you apply the cuticle remover. Please take care of your natural nails before doing the gel/ press on/ polish gel. And it’s very harmful to share videos like that because many girls could copy you. When you prefer to make your own nails at home maybe watch @nailmartusa at YouTube. Please take care.

The gloves protect your hands from the UV light, but what about the tips of the fingers and nail beds? 🤔

Hi, I've recently got a UV light so I can do my own gel nails, so I'm very curious about these UV gloves. I've never heard of them. I'm guessing they protect the skin?! I didn't realise they could cause any harm.😮

You guys can someone help me out? Alexandra did a video within the last year or two, where she decided to switch it up and have classic, short and minimal nails - but it wasn’t a nail-only video (although I’m not sure). I’ve searched through her shorts and her videos from the last year or two and haven’t been able to find anything. Was it on Instagram or something? Or did she delete it?
