I too have been trying for that perfect gradient soft white French manicure. I finally got it down but it took me sooo many tries with different products. About a $100 worth of nothing but see through soft pinks and milky white polishes. I was about to give up though. You just have to find what works for yourself. I'm glad I stuck with it. I love the look! Mine are more of a blended gradient look.

You can try doing the first nude layer as thin as possible, and the use a milky white base for the tips, and after that top it with a sheer rubber base to create the structure on top instead of at the start

I’ve seen this and it really only works with OPIs “put it in neutral” as the base and “funny bunny” as the white.
