Advice agsinst EU DD:
They DDs are slow. You can pre-aim if you know their location. Don't panic drop like this Shokaku. The best CV moments were when Shokaku was spotting for the Riga. Fly centerline if possible. If they pop priority AA fly to the other side. It's possible to fight EU DDs same tier or one uptier. I find it refreshing for the challenge. I can't fight EU DDs 2 tiers higher if they are smart. Don't tunnel vision. Harass them until they stop pushing and play scared. Then shift target to higher priority ships like radar and BBs.
Turn off battle chat screaming at you to hunt the low HP DD. It's not worth the time if you are blind hunting. You may get lucky but meanwhile the cruisers and BBs are tearing apart your team. Your role as a CV in random battle is not pure damage, it's to counter-push and harass the enemy into poor positioning.

This Shokaku wasn't bad but not the best. I could've punished this Oland. Shokaku did a smart thing by controlling the right flank. His team threw the game because of the potato Bismarck and 2 DDs of pepega over-chasing behind enemy lines instead of helping the Bismarck control B.

reminds me of the game I had with my brand new Vasteras when I went into a random game instead of a coop one, so I ended up with :
- no camo, no flag
- no modules
- an untrained captain
- against a Shokaku on my side of map
- no beer in fridge and mother in law at home
.... it was actually fun trying to be useful (spotting, torping, dodging) despite these odds, I even managed to create a menace against Shokaku. I won't do it again, but hilarious nonetheless ^^

Love the Öland, not to strong, not to weak, good solid ship but if you are in a battle without CV and less Radar, the strength will come through

I'm trash at DDs. At lower tiers their torpedo range is a lot lower than their concealment range, which makes them rather difficult to use.

personnaly, with the Halland I use the detection ring by air on my mini map... like that I can see clearly when I will be detected. before being detected pop up AA, consumable, priority sector... AA go bye bye planes
adice for CV player, when you suddenly fly above a EU DD dont turn before you are away from is AA range... your planes will be more then half down before you came back to the DD
