The Greatest Woman Ever

William Wordsworth called Mary, the mother of Jesus, "our tainted nature's solitary boast." Who was this extraordinary woman, and how should we understand the key dogmas about her life and nature? In today's episode, I offer a crash course on Mary. A listener asks why God created us as humans instead of as angels.

Word on Fire is a nonprofit ministry that depends on the support of our listeners...like you! So be part of this mission, and donate today.

I love it when Bishop Barron said this, "When we compliment Mary, we honor her and we praise her, how is God insulted by that? God is delighted by that because Mary is His masterpiece."

As an engineer, my response to the challenge that “if it can’t be measured, it isn’t real” is to point out that Love cannot be measured, does that mean that love does not exist. Justice cannot be measured, does that mean it does not exist? Do you, the skeptic hold fast to the position that love and justice do not exist?

Ave Maria
Truly the greatest woman.
My brother has recently been very confused by media news about these very topics; the authenticity of the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of Mary into Heaven.
This podcast will clear his confusion.
Thank you Bishop Barron for your dedication to propogate the Catholic faith.

The Word is Supernatural, it goes beyond everything we can "understand " with our minds or intellect. Only the heart might come to "understand" when we, as Mary, Ponder everything in our hearts.

In reply to the lady who asked Bishop Barron why God did not make us angels, instead of human beings. I reference something the Great Catholic Saint, Mystic and Stigmatic of the 20th century, Padre Pio once stated. From an early age Padre Pio could converse with his guardian angel, he told us. Once he asked the guardian angel this question: " What was it about men that made the fallen angels so jealous of mankind that they rebelled against God, and lost heaven ?" Padre Pio tells us that his guardian angel replied with this answer, " Because man can suffer for God ". So one may wonder if there were angels who asked, as this lady did, why couldn't God have made us human ? It is something for each of us to ponder, especially when we are beset with suffering in our lives.
