Thanks for the great video & testing. Dollar Tree has bamboo cutting boards, have you ever tried using bamboo?

I just came across your video today while researching heat presses. I have watched some more of your videos and love to listen to you. Thank you for sharing. I have learned a lot from them. I am new to sublimation and am looking for something to do when I retire to supplement our income. This was a great help in researching both heat press and sublimating. Loved listening to your voice too. Thank you so much. :-)

How long does the laminate stay on the wood? Does it start to peel?

Try using rust-Oleum frosted glass spray. A few coats with about 5-10 minutes in between coats then let dry about 30 min. Then you can sublimate right to it if you like a matte look.

Hi Roger. I have watched your videos and have learned so much. Thank you for teaching us these methods. I noticed your 3D printers in the background, my husband and son do 3D printing. Love the little blue guy by the last one.

I'm just venturing into sublimation. A couple of questions:
1. Can you hot peel the sublimation paper off right out of the press to avoid sticking? Other projects I've seen the paper is peeled off immediately.
2. Have you tried a regular craft acrylic or chalk paint as the base coat, then apply the clear laminate? Wondering if that paint would hold up to the heat.
3. Was your poly varnish pine colored? What if you used clear? How much of a difference does using matte, satin, or gloss make to the finished image?
4. For wood with imperfections I assume you could cover successfully with a poly-651-laminate trilayer? Maybe a good way to reuse those imperfect laser projects?

That has to be one of, if not the absolute longest intro I have ever come across. SERIOUSLY ?!?!
