What I love about this video is that it's just a perfect example of how it's absolutely fine not to love what everyone else loves. I've never found eye creams to do anything for me either. But you present this in such a great way. It's OK to have a different opinion. Not everything works well for everyone.

The fact that you're a Tarte partner but still talk about things from Tarte you do not like, makes me trust you more when you recommend things or say not to buy things.

I understand how hard it is to do this video because theres some of these that could be a sponsor. In a platform like this you are so straightforward and willing to call them out. Proud of ya sis!

For me a good eye cream is essential. I tried taking up my usual skincare under my eyes, but it just felt so heavy/clogging and made my eyes water a bit, while, eye creams feel cool and soothing. I think if you have sensitive eyes like I do, eye creams are very important.

With regards to the dermaplaning tool: Be aware of the fact that dermaplaning can aggravate any underlying acne issues you may have. Additionally if you are prone to ingrown hairs or have multiple hairs in each follicle be doubly aware of the fact that dermaplaning can actually cause breakouts! I NEVER dealt with more than a pimple here and there my entire life, then after ONE professional dermaplane session I suffered for nearly a year trying to get rid of horrible breakouts and ingrown hairs. Just be aware, y'all.

Shea, I value how transparent you are in each video and I thoroughly enjoy your sense of humor. One item that is not super expensive, but definitely worth it is the WET brush. We have 3 (3 girls = at least 3 brushes) and love all of them. We stopped using detangler and only use a leave in conditioner during super wintery months thanks to a WET brush. Worth it!

I’m on my husband’s YT account, just wanted to say I love your videos! You remind me so very much of my daughter, especially since you colored your hair darker! She passed away suddenly at 44 two years ago, because of her husband! ! Thank you for all you do! I love your enthusiasm!

Shea, you are so sweet, you shouldn't have to repeat the fact you are trying not to hurt feelings. I would recommend presenting this type of video in more of a "dupe" style. People tend to associate dupe comparisons as helping them save money vs not being worth it, therefore the delivery is recieved more positively 😉

You're such a sweetie... "Am I getting mean as this goes along? I don't mean to, "... you just seem like you genuinely don't ever want to make anyone feel bad, which is such a lovely personality trait. 😊

I'm not surprised that you don't like the Too Faced foundation, since you have a oily skin type. I have oily combo skin and did not like that foundation at first, on application it looked beautiful. It gave this instant glow, but only after a little wear my face would become very oily. But I came back to it again, after learning more face powders/primers. I used a mattifying primer, Nyx Angel Veil, and a good mattifying face powder, Urban Decay Velvitizer, and the foundation looked just flawless. Not too dry and cake-y or oily, just perfect. I did use a lot of powder but went in with a dewy setting spray and a glow-y powder.

You should never have to apologize for sharing your opinions on products. I appreciate your honesty and enjoy the way you tell it.

Agree with you eye creams are a gimmick. They’re face moisturizers in smaller packaging sold for more expensive. Totally with you on the lip scrubs and the firming cream as well.

I love La Mer. I am far from rich, but I tried it and it moisturizes my skin better than anything else I've ever used. I used the soft cream. It doesn't make me break out and gives my skin a great texture for makeup. So I disagree with you on this one. But I always love your input.

"Am I being mean?" - I don't think you have a mean bone in your body and I really enjoyed this video! 😊 Speaking of eye cream, I asked my dermatologist what I should be using on my skin and she did not say that I needed an eye cream. I just use a vitamin C serum and moisturizer.

Not posting negative comments but since we are on the topic of not liking products:

1. I like most of the products you recommend, so good job there!

2. I tried your favorite Tarte brush and I wanted to like it so much but somehow it always left smudges and streaks on my skin, perhaps I'm putting on too much foundation?

3. That CC cream from IT I loved until I realized it contains oil and was clogging my pores :( great look though and coverage ( Comedogenic!).
Preface: I never had any issues with any face cream before. It made my eyes tear non stop if it got in by accident. After months of usage and several ophthalmologists visits I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I didn't put it on my eye lids but sometimes leftovers on my fingers got mixed with concealer and would end up near or in my eyes. It was very little amounts, and somehow only in one eye. I stopped using the CC cream and my eye stopped leaking. Problem fixed

4. I agree with the Tarte Tape ( think they renamed it). It's thick and gets stuck in between wrinkles and fine lines no matter how well I set it

5. Eye creams: I learned not to put anything and everything out there on my eye lids because bad ingredients would irritate me. My favorite now is from Costco StriVectin anti-wrinkle. A bit expensive but I got it on a sale. Can't go back. Mid 30's here, have some fine lines but at this point we can maintain what we have and best case scenario slow down aging? Not expecting miracles here.

6. I will add one useless product: Becca under eye pink brightening cream. Such a good idea and would love for it to work. Sure it shines, but add concealer to it and there is so much product it will inevitably get cakey. Does anyone have instructions for it?

7. Shea have you tried using Mane Magic? Look it up it's a great product. Been using it for years. 10 in 1

8. Omg the Panties! I wanted them to work so badly. The sizing is way off even after sizing up, twice. I couldn't do it. Theoretically it should work but I then realized it's like going to washable diapers when you have disposable one. To each their own but after first real usage I couldn't figure out how to wash it without being grossed out and let me tell you it took me 3 days to dry it. Always felt cold and wet. Too much maintenance.

9. Period cups, after 1.5 years of using them here are my 2 cents: I like that they were reusable and so much cheaper, and I am all for going green. Downside, if you work in an office where you don't have a private bathroom with a sink in it you are screwed. Period

Thanks for reading!

OMG! I'm so glad you recommend the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. I have been using it for years. It has SPF 50, full coverage, and not heavy.
