Hey man i like your videos. If you want to learn some more about pokémon especially gen 1 try watching some solo playthroughs. It really helped me understand why the AI of opponents do the weird things they do. For examples in the red run Bulbasaur was always safe to all the dragon types with agility because its a psychic move so the AI thinks it is super effective against poison. It doesn't realize agility isn't a damaging move. Also in gen 1 once a pokémon uses the move rage it can't choose anything else until it feints or the battle has ended. I personally learned a lot from watching solo challenges from multiple creators. Keep up the good work man

Gen1 Rage locks you into the move till the pokemon faints.

The reason for the dragon air along with some other Pokémon like rapid ash using agility on bulbs is bc it’s psychic type so it thinks super effective even though it doesn’t do damage gotta love gen 1

What Pokémon should've evolved under Ash's ownership...?
Squirtle to Wartortle, Quilava, Totodile to Croconaw, Gible to Gabite, Oshawott to Dewott, Snivy to Servine, & Palpitoad.

Edit: As for the reasons I'd evolve each these over any of them.

For Squirtle, it's meant to reflect the idea of the Red/Leaf in SSB series where all the Kanto starters show off the three parts of the line.

For Totodile and Quilava, it can represent how far Ash had come at that point, where he has all three members have evolved at least once by thebend of Johto and Quilava evolves a second time in Sinnoh instead of just staying a Cyndaquil until then.

Gible could've evolve in the fight with Tobias and put up a better fight against Darkrai

For the Unovan Starters, in my mind, they could've evolved to show Ash was getting back int his competitive mindset, and learned the pledges (something they could've learned as a result of evolution).

And Palpitoad evolving is to show how much he has come with Ash (and because I wish this little guy got more love under Ash).

Now, I wouldn't evolve our favorite narcoleptic, god-like owlet because of how funny it is in him beating fully evolved bird Pokémon (they should've taught him Sleep Talk as a gag instead of teaching him Seed Bomb, just imagine him randomly Brave Bird-ing Decidueye in his sleep instead of just being reversed by Hala).

technically Ash did not capture Haunter. there was no Pokeballs used on it. it went him to Saffron gym while playing around.

Kinda wonder why you didn’t use the super rod to get a Dratini/Dragonair to evolve into a Dragonite? Ash had a Dragonite in the anime. Could have come in clutch in Yellow.

All of them, unless they didn’t want to like pikachu. Other then that exact reason a good train would always evolve their pokemon because that bringing out the best in your pokemon

Ash never REALLY caught Haunter, since this only follows him out of fun, but once Journeys happened and Ash got Gengar, this debate has become kind of moot. 😂

Ash should've evolved totodile, gible, pignite, oshowatt, snivy, palpitoad, rowlet, buizel, boldore. Edit: He didn't have a haunter! Thats an invalid pokemon! He never caught it in a poke ball!
