Academy Award® winner Robert Zemeckis directs this live action retelling of the beloved tale of a wooden puppet who embarks on a thrilling adventure to become a real boy. Tom Hanks stars as Geppetto, the wood carver who builds and treats Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his own son. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Jiminy Cricket, who serves as Pinocchio’s guide as well as his "conscience"; Academy Award® nominee Cynthia Erivo is the Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key is "Honest" John; Academy Award® nominee Lorraine Bracco is Sofia the Seagull, a new character, and Luke Evans is The Coachman. Also in the cast are Kyanne Lamaya as Fabiana and Jaquita Ta’Le as her marionette Sabina, Giuseppe Battiston as Stromboli and Lewin Lloyd as Lampwick.

The screenplay for “Pinocchio” is by Robert Zemeckis & Chris Weitz. Andrew Miano, Chris Weitz, Robert Zemeckis and Derek Hogue are the film’s producers, with Jack Rapke, Jacqueline Levine, Jeremy Johns and Paul Weitz the film’s executive producers.

When I was a child, I saw a promo for the VHS release of Forrest Gump where the only audio was Tom Hanks reciting the Star Light poem. I have never been able to find it again. Regardless of the quality of this adaptation, I feel like a content child hearing him recite it again all these years later.

Tom Hanks is good actor and he’s good playing characters in Disney movies.

Tom Hanks was brilliant for the role of Gepetto, considering how great he was with characters being a father figure. I've seen that with The Conductor from The Polar Express, Sheriff Woody from The Toy Story Franchise, and Walt Disney from Saving Mr. Banks. Also, considering how Robert Zemeckis also loves Pinocchio and included the character in a cameo appearance in two of his films The Polar Express and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (both of who are my favorite movies he's ever done), he was the right man to direct the film. Both Tom Hanks and Robert Zemeckis are an amazing team. I would really like for them to do a live-action Toy Story movie in the future.
