As someone that foams all the time at work using commercial grade pneumatic foamers, if you start getting too thick with the foam it’ll run off faster than when it’s too thin and barely leave any solution behind when it falls off. Gotta find that sweet spot.

with the soap being liquid, not goo, my guess is that there's not salt added. Thus, it won't rust when you accidentally let it dry meaning it's safe!
