This is a lyric video for Avenged Sevenfold's Acid Rain off their 2013 album Hail To The King.

A few years ago a good friend of mine introduced me to this song I had never heard it before. I got a call today telling me that he killed himself. We used to jam to avenged sevenfold at work during our breaks. He was like my little brother and id give almost anything for another day to just talk to him

I see this song as a wake-up call to everyone.
Although this song is extremely deep and there are several different interpretations that could be applied to it, I see this the most strongly.

Basically it's saying that nobody will live forever. We are all going to die.
Sanders clearly is singing to someone close to him, telling them these things.

He reminds the listener in the first verses to be thankful for the time they have and that life is precious because of the brevity, indicating that they should make best effort to live life to the fullest in what time they have.

In the second set of verses he singing to his loved one again, repeating once again that the end of time is approaching, and in the midst of all that, he loves her/him and they will always have a place in his heart.
And basically that their love is timeless, saying:
"There's no death, no end of time when I'm facing it with you."

The line of the chorus:
"Children still play in the garden
dance as the sun slips away."
Seems as if it is referring to the fact that even with death, other people are still carrying on as normal, life still goes on until their "sun slips away"

The next line in the chorus:"Not even stars last forever." is once again referring to the fact that everything has its time and that everything has an end to it.

In the bridge, Sanders is telling his listener to not anticipate death, nor to fear it.
"Stand near to me, don't look, be brave, "

The final line: "Send us home." is referring to death.

Honestly it's amazing to think that the same band that created "Hail to the King" and "Nightmare" could do this too. Anybody who says Avenged Sevenfold isn't great is either high or just ignorant.

I love the minute of white noise at the end. Probably the most powerful part of the album for the feeling it portrays, just waiting for the world to end, while you stand powerless before the heavens crashing down

My husband has been playing this on repeat almost daily for the past 2 months and I'm so glad he's done so because I have fallen in love with this masterpiece. I plan on learning at least the piano parts (even if there's not a whole lot) and finding a decent accompaniment so I can sing it for him one day. I know it would make his day

People talk about the legends like Eddie, Satriani, Jimi, etc. but dear god (pun intended) Syn has some seriously magical skills with the guitar. He has so much technical skill and yet you can hear the emotion he pours into every note, I would put him in my top 5 guitarists ever list for sure, he's definitely extremely underrated.

there's not many bands where I can legit listen to EVERY SONG and know the words. I have not listened to a song by this band that I do not like. of course I like some over others, but this will always be THE band for me. I can't wait to see them live on May 12. a7x for life

This songs reminds me of my grandpa. He passed on about 2 years ago because of lung cancer. I was crying through out the song because it reminded me of him.
