Maybe it would be more cool if the wear spots coincided with two spots where he does touch the body [one has no wear at all]. In all the other worn areas, THOSE are spots that he, and almost all of us players, will never wear the finish off of. We'd wear them down where there's normal contact. It's like a superstrat that got relic'd, just by lending it to Joe Strummer for a year long tour.
