animation assignment. silhouette stop motion.

This is a little silhouette animation I made for my 2d animation class. It's a bit jerky and could be longer. I had some sleep issues.... But I still kinda like it.

I'd like to thank, gratuitously and profusely, Shaun Wilson for his tech assistance. It'd be nothing without him.

Oh- I'm so sorry I didn't reply. My notifications were going into an obsolete account. All fixed now. Trees- I had three A1 sheets of thinnish brown card, taped together and cut with a stanley knife. The intricate details were cut the same way and the whole thing was spray painted black. The background was put together in Adobe After Effects and was a composite of various parts of the same trees as the foreground that I'd re-arranged.

@dilmojo hiya, I had no reply from anyone however I found a neat trick to use! Either split pins or blue tack! Ill be uploading my silhouette video in 2 weeks, maybe sooner, so ill keep you updated and you can see the effect it has with blueback..which is what I used. (:

Did you draw the basic shape of those trees and cut them out? If so how did you cut such intricately small details particularly on the leaves hanging off those branches. Also would love to know how you did the background too. Tutorial would be sooo nice. Love your animation!

Hi just wondering how you were able to get the background to move like that. I'm doing a similar style with a city scape in the background and I want to create the illusion of movement with a similar style. Really good work by the way.
