Let’s talk about the potential dangers associated with taking birth control pills.

There is no real estrogen or progesterone in birth control pills. Instead, there are synthetic versions of estrogen and progesterone that have been altered to mimic these hormones. But, there can be side effects.

Increased risks associated with birth control pills:
• Heart attacks
• High blood pressure
• Stroke
• Blood clots
• Breast cancer
• Dementia
• Depression
• Acne
• Mood swings
• Lupus
• Weight gain
• A deficiency in zinc and selenium
• Melasma
• An alteration of the microbiome

Birth control pills shut down the production of estrogen and progesterone, which can have long-term effects on your health. It may even affect longevity.

However, there is a hormone-free option that is FDA cleared and is 93-99% effective, depending on how well it’s implemented. This form of birth control is called Natural Cycles, and it doesn’t involve any medication whatsoever.

If you’ve been on birth control pills or decide to continue taking birth control pills, it may be beneficial to do things to counter some of the chemicals in your liver.

You can do this by consuming more cruciferous and fermented vegetables. You may also want to take zinc, selenium, B12, magnesium, and a good probiotic.

I was one of the many who was told the pill would "fix" my irregular cycle. Wanna know what actually worked?
- Drastically reducing sugar intake
- Reducing processed carb intake
- Reintroducing meat (I had been a vegetarian for years at that point)
- Eliminating processed, franken-food, fake meat products
- Eliminating soda
- Adopting an exercise routine

Wow! As a woman, I really appreciate seeing this information going out to other women! I think we’ve all experienced being treated like being on the Pill is something we all must want, either for birth control or worse, to mask real medical issues like PCOS or endometriosis. The Pill is actually rated a Class I carcinogen by the WHO, known to cause breast cancer in women. I’m also concerned about how those synthetic hormones are affecting the water supply. Could that be causing some of the PCOS and other reproductive system issues that so many women have? Thanks for helping women to make informed decisions, Dr Berg!

I became unhinged while on the pill. Depressed, anxious, severe mood swings. Worst decisions ever. I track my cycles naturally now and feel fantastic.

Never took BC pills and always used the natural cycle method and never had a problem. Many Dr’s wanted to prescribe it to me but when I learnt it was synthetic I opted out. Glad I did after watching this video. Thanks for validating!

This doctor has consistently been putting out the best health information which in many cases gets overlooked or simply hidden from the public. He gets all my respect what a legendary doc!

You're the only doctor in YouTube that I trust. Even those 'big' youtuber doctors sometimes deny things you bring up.

My partner suffered all sorts of heart problems and everything pointed towards her use of pill. The doctor assured her the pill is safe and said her issues were unrelated and should be treated all separately.
Eventually she gave up the pill and gradually her issues faded away.

Birthcontrol was the worst thing I ever took. I was on it for 10 years. While on them it increased my insulin levels and gave me birth control induced PCOS. After I got off about 2.5 years ago it was a nightmare withdrawing and the PCOS was not going away. Nothing was helping, until I found your videos on fasting to reach autophagy and boom after a couple rounds of fasting my cysts disappeared and I got pregnant naturally. I wish I would have been educated more before starting them. I would have never got on them. The depression and weight gain was insane.

I took birth control for years and even when I was off of it it took my body years to ovulate again. With my first trial we needed fertility treatments. After my first, my body finally regulated itself again and I ovulate like clockwork. My second and thirds were super easy to conceive.

Thank you for addressing this issue. It is really brave of you. It has always struck me as strange and hypocritical to be over concerned about what food we ingest but to ignore the deliberate introduction of powerful chemicals into a woman's body. Natural family planning is the way to go as it make the man share the responsibility of averting conception.

I was so scared to take birth control until I became desperate. I had extremely painful periods (fainting, stagnation, heavy flow, fatigue, occasional vomiting, etc). I got tested for everything and no endometriosis, PCOS..just chronic dysmenorrhea. My gynecologist was indenial of the horrible symptoms I experienced from birth control. She had me on the lowest dose. I took it for a week. Suddenly, I had vomiting and diarrhea around 4:30-5:00 am multiple times a week. I went to urgent care and they thought I had the stomach flu..WRONG. I kept calling my doctor and she said my situation is too “atypical” for this to be a reaction to the pill. I waited it out and it didn’t stop. I was so upset and confused which led me to go to another doctor. This doctor was on the more “old school” side of the spectrum and he urged me to get off the pill because my body was rejecting the synthetic hormones. I knew it!!!! I got off the pill and symptoms disappeared. I stopped going to my gynecologist after that. I’m no longer on the pill and won’t ever go back to birth control. My periods have somewhat calmed down due to exercise, diet, and herbs☺️

In 2019, I have been on pills for 6 months, no thanks to PCOS. Then my body became round. Thank you for this video BTW… the side effects (migraine) were crazy. I never got my sexy body again. I hope you make more videos about PCOS and birth control videos. I agree that pills don’t fix our hormones.

Oh Thank you for talking about BC Dr. Berg. I suffered a Brain stem Stroke due to BC last year. I was told when you suffer from Migraines, you’re not supposed to take the pills. I took it due to heavy cycles for years. Ladies, listen to your body.

I am so thankful that I didn't listen to my OBGYN who pushed me to take the pill for bettering my skin. I wasn't sexually active at that time and didn't think my skin was bad, just one or two pimples. After 20+ years, I found that my friends who had/have been on pill for some time, have many women issues later on in life.

I haven’t taken the pill for 25 years. No unwanted pregnancies and I feel good knowing I haven’t toxed my system. The healthier I got the easier my periods became.

Thank you for sharing this. Women need to know that there are other methods to control fertility. In France, one of them is called "symptothermie". My all fertility span, I only took the pill one or two years and the rest of the time, I was listening to my body and my husband and I were changing our practices following the period where I had been. I haven't had any unwanted pregancy and we had one wonderful boy. Also, I can tell you I was very fertile because it tooked me only 3 months to get pregnant at 36 years old.

Oh my word!!! 😢😢😢😢 52 birth control pills for maybe a year or so. Then I came out pregnant and a year after I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus, and almost died. Couple of years after that, I now suffer from antiphospholipid syndrome.. I've had two Pulmonary Embolisms already and when it comes to the lupus has changed my life to the worst. I pray to God and thank him that I'm here, because of his grace. Oh my Lord I wish I knew all of this. I put myself into the situation. Thank you so much for sharing God bless and stay safe 🥲🥲🙏🏾🤗
