How to adjust air cooled diesel generator for perfect frequency

I go through the process for setting an air cooled generator for 60Hz frequency using my AA Diesel Generator, rated to 5000 watts while using about 4500 watts as a load. This allows the pieces of electrical equipment to operate at there peak efficiency. Generators can drift in there speed over time so it is necessary to readjust sometimes. this process cane be applied for 50Hz if you live a different country.

Mine is 230v and 50hz.. am running at 223v and 47.5hz..could i adjust it to 50hz doing the same you have done here.. ?

Well done mate. This is exactly what I was looking for in my own generator that's Hyundai branded. It's got the exact same engine and governor setup and I wasn't sure how its frequency was adjusted. Perfect video on to the point. Thanks for making the time to put it together.

Thank you, I had an over frequency error and shut down on a nearly identical machine. Its 50hz in EU. The previous owner replaced the "throttle" assembly and it makes sense to be tightened at a random spot.

im in europe and mine was running at 60htz and had to adjust the spring to the 3rd hole or notch. it brought it down to 54htz, now I can find tune it with your method. DO you have to adjust the threaded screw also ?

What temperature does the engine reach on the cylinder head during normal operation? Is mine reaching 120 degrees normal? What temperature does yours reach?

Hi, so what is more important, voltage or hertz? I have a 1300 watt geny and I set the voltage while under 750 watt load to 120 volts. Is that good enough or should I really get a Hz tester? Is it even possible for the Volts and Hz to be that far from one another? Cheers!

Do ypu have to loosen both bolts to adjust or just the slotted one ?

I think better is to adjust without any load, just adding some extra Hz, 1 or 1, 5 Hz

these chinese generators are very sensitive.not to exceed 60% of its power.
