Far Cry 5 | What It Did RIGHT

Far Cry 5 has been a very mixed game for me for a long time but overtime especially after Far Cry 6 I've had a more positive opinion of it so I thought why not in this video go over all the major things I feel Far Cry 5 got right. And of course naturally I'll make a video going over everything Far Cry 5 did wrong as well.

Far cry 5 was my first far cry so I may be a little biased, but even after going back and playing every other game, it just feels like such a different far cry experience in a good way. It will always have a soft spot in my heart and it's in my top 5 games of all time personally

It all goes back to the meme "are we the baddies"? What Farcry 3, 4 and 5 did was make you ask yourself "are they really bad". This made the story that much more interesting to me. The DLC for Farcry 6 was the cherry on top for each of the so called villains. Seeing thing from their point of view really cemented them as some of the best villains of all time.

FC5 is a really fun game, its probably the most time I have spent in a FC game followed by 4. It gave the freedom to do everything you'd want from it, and I honestly think it stands out from the typical Ubisoft games. I know I'm gonna get a lot of heat for this but I prefer the hand takedowns as opposed to the takedowns in any other far cry, something about it just makes me feel powerful in a way other far cry games cannot.

When I played Farcry 3 and 4, I pretty much ran through the main quest. Farcry 5 was the first where I took my time and paid attention to every detail and 100% it. I loved this game and it's atmosphere. And something you didn't mention, the soundtrack was absolutely amazing! I agree with you 100% that Joseph Seed and the family feel like real bosses and have more of an impact, especially compared to Farcry 6. The only thing I believe Farcry 6 did better, was the weapon management. I would love to be able to access all my weapons through my inventory the way we can in 6.

I personally loved most everything about far cry 5. It was my first open world game, as I got a console quite late, and it was a magical experience. Even on replay, it still holds up in my eyes.

I really enjoyed Far Cry 5. I really liked the atmosphere of the world, the antagonists(mainly John and Joseph), and I liked how they took a chance with setting it in the US. Montana, while not the most exciting state, gave this game the perfect setting.

On my second playthrough, one thing I would do is to open the world map and listen to the music for a few minutes, seriously it fits so well with the American countryside, I lived in the countryside of England for a few years and yes they are quite different, but brings me back nonetheless. I like both 5 and 6 but honestly in 6 perhaps it was with Esperanza that the game does not have the 'Far' feeling to it. Also in 5 the enemies are not some generic mercenaries or armies, but cultists, which is quite new for me, and the religious theme really got me into it

I see both far cry 5 and ac origins as the last good entries in their respective franchises, both good games that signalled the end

As Far Cry 3's Multiplayer is coming to an End. Far cry 5 Arcade becomes the only way to experience Far cry's Multiplayer.

The soundtrack is a masterpiece. I still listen to "We Will Rise Again" form times to times

I have to be honest far cry 5 and new dawn has to be my best Ubisoft story because it shows what happens after destruction which is a new bloom and also how the farther impacts you as the player, even I listen to the music in my time to help cope with stuff and to see there is a light in every dark tunnel

Tbh I enjoyed this title overall. The weapon customization/bullet drop, missions, and overall environment being Montana wasn't too random story mission kidnappings were pretty annoying tbh

The game is really good, and I was being really harsh on it back when I completed it( since I compared it with FC3 and FC4). But looking back now, I regret none of it.

And yes, the soundtrack is quite a masterpiece of itself.

I love Far Cry 5 and Far Cry 6 a lot for different reasons. What bothers me in FC5 a lot are the bottlenecks in the story. There was a huge missed opportunity to make it awesome.

I love also tbh Far Cry 5's Religion theme. And Joseph and Pagan. I miss Hope County 😭. I'm waiting for Detroit in Far Cry 7.

What i didn't like about this game is the repitition in story missions.. You get kidnaped over and over.. The only variation was in faith missions
The open world is empty and repetitive scenes everywhere no variety in envirnements.. I also hated the fetch side quests that rarely had interesting stories..
What I liked was the gameplay and the antagonists like you said.. Overall pretty average game

Far Cry 5 will forever be the most underrated game in the franchise, in my opinion. I loved the setting, the gameplay, the main antagonist, the immersive environment, and many more.

One thing that is not mentioned enough is the political choice. Far Cry 5 makes you wonder if maybe the preppers are right, it is a story of a man trying to save his people against an impending disaster and how the government gets in his way. Whether you agree with that stance or not in real life, it is a perspective that is rarely seen in video games and it is rather refreshing when you compare it to most recent Ubisoft titles that take a very "woke" approach to the point where it often gets in the way of immersion in my opinion.
