Running Dry: Cochise County residents taking action as groundwater wells run dry

Cochise County residents are taking action as residential wells in the area go dry. Some say the increasing number of farms owned by out-of-state companies are depleting the region's groundwater levels too quickly.

It's not family farms it's the foreign growers that export, for example the middle east.

Subsidence will be a major problem when the wells go dry. Ghost ranch and farms will pop up

I sold my land right after I heard about the huge out of state cattle operation going in. With a well over 2000' deep.

The Coronado dairy can suck up all the water, but residents need to cut back.

Should be building a pipeline from north Dakota where they are flooding just about every year. Nevada California would be interested too. Maybe Manitoba in Canada would be interested too

I have a few acres out there but I can't imagine paying $40, 000 for a well, thinking just find a water hauling company to fill up my water holding tanks, should be cheaper 🤔

I do not mind agriculture using water, they are growing food. But out of town owners like saufi Arabia growing alfalfa to be sent back to Arabia to feed cattle ? Is this necessary. Big users are copper mines who use lots of water
