Protogens USED to be created in an unethical way that left them "faceless".
But after the schism that broke the Primogenitor Civilization in two, the creation process has been significantly changed to treat them with much more decency without reducing their potential capability.
In other words, your Protogen OC can have a normal face.

This feels like one of those things one intrinsically isn’t supposed to see, but has seen, only, honestly, not too shabby.

Personally, one of the reasons I wear eyeliner and eyeshadow that is black as night is because sometimes areas are just too bloody bright, and the dark makeup absorbs a significant amount of light. That, and it looks glorious.
