I wanted to talk about Final Fantasy history and the role of Summons in every Final Fantasy game. This covers the evolution of Final Fantasy Summons and how all Summons have changed from game to game. Each Final Fantasy title changes how Summons work mechanically as well as how those Summons relate to the main story.

The names of Summons are different between Final Fantasy games and have been called Primals, Eidolons, Eikons, Espers, Scions, Avatars, Guardian Forces, Aeons, and Astrals.

Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VII, and Final Fantasy VIII use Summons the least in their story and take on a much simpler role.

This video's goal is to explain the importance of Summons in their respective games and how that has changed from each Final Fantasy game.

My favourite summon has to be Shiva - she's always been there for us since day one, and has the most personality compared to the others. Though Garuda in Ff15 and Neo Bahamut & Bahamut Zero just look epic & would love to see them return in ff16 or ff7 remake 2.
