Carl and Daryl shouldve had SO many more scenes together, such an underutilised pairing. They even had scenes that were cut! Such a shame Carl was so ruined in the show, basically only ever having scenes with the same 3 people and being completely neutered

In retrospect, one of the biggest faults of the entire series is Carl having practically zero interaction with the main cast outside of Rick and Michone. Imagine the impact of Glenn's death if we had scenes of them joking around? Or him and Noah bonding over their friendship with Beth?

The Walking Dead, the only mistake of this beautiful series that I love is to have killed that little boy named Carl. I would give any character to come back and live TWD with him as the main character, but let's put that behind us.
Speaking of the scene, I've always taken it to a demonstration that Carl could have been tougher and stronger than Daryl in all aspects within an apocalypse (Ex: intelligence, survival, leader, etc). I explain, Daryl lived that situation with his mother when he was very young and it was traumatic for him, he is what he is because of what happened to him, because of what he lived through in his life. And then Carl comes along and tells him that he shot his own mother, I don't want to go so far as to compare the pain that the two felt, but we can say that Carl shooting Lori is more traumatic for a child of that age. So I get the feeling that Carl might have been stronger than Daryl for the simple fact that the things he was going to go through were going to shape him in a much stronger way.
What an amazing character we missed out on.

Killing Carl was the worst mistake of the show, with Glenn following close behind. He was one of the best characters and was also really underutilized, not having many scenes with other characters aside from Rick and Michonne. The decision for Carl's death literally led Andrew Lincoln to leave soon after, which was even worse for AMC. They had to go through storylines in which Carl and Rick were a big part of in the comics without either of them, and even though seasons 9, 10, and 11 were great, they would've been so much better if they had Andrew Lincoln and Chandler Riggs in them. It just doesn't feel right without either of them.
