(HOW TO) use 2K clear on model cars/clear over decals

[CAUTION] 2K clear is one of the most dangerous paints you can spray. please watch the whole video on all safety supplies you need. thank you!

on this video I will be showing you how to use 2K clear on model cars. everything I mentioned in this video I will provide a link so you can find them easy!

when you are spraying 2K clear coat do 2 to 3 even coats or until you are satisfied!

if you want to do clear coat on top of clear is do so. if you would like to clear your body before you put on details you can do that. put on one to two coats of clear on the body. let it dry for at least 7 to 10 hours at that time is touch dry and you can carefully put on your decals. be very careful do not press on the cricut because it is still curing at that time. then put on the second part of clear less than 12 hours. because the clear you put on before the decals it is still curing at that time.

clear coat dry time
a clear coat is touch dry in 7 to 10 hours but do not handle it as much. clear coat to harden takes 1 to 3 days to fully dry.

airbrush.
if you have a gravity feed airbrush spray between-------10 to 15 PSI
if you have a suction ear bush that has a cup on the bottom spray
between------15 to 20 PSI
& I use a 1.5 ml needle.

House of Color intercoat clear will work for decals also. It's like spraying base coat paint but it's clear. You can also use it with there concentrate candy's. It dries really fast. Then finish with clear coat.

I love your paint job and clear coating. Big fan. I'm a beginner and I just having a bit of spots on my paint job and I haven't no idea what I'm doing when wet sanding.
Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated.

Great video. Although instead of using automotive clear when I decal I’ll use a Createx clear #5604 then use the 2K on top of the decals because it dries much faster and I’m sure something in the uvls line will work as well. I also believe you’re probably using a .15 needle you said in the video you’re using a 1.5 and in the description. A 1.5 needle is an automotive size needle.

Nice video but I was wondering why you can’t wait longer to apply a second coat of clear since you don’t sand down the base coat before applying the first coat so it has to stick to smooth surfaces …

Preventing a skin or hardening is a issue after exposed to air. I use a small quart container.

Nice work, I used the Spray Max 2K clear coat (rattle can) ($25/can at Auto finishers paint shop) when I repainted my Girlfriends motorcycle, it works well. I basically used 1 can on the tank, 1 can on the front/ rear tins. Anyway downside using rattle can have to use it within 24-48 hrs, If know how you want to base paint your models just get a group of them ready for clear and spray them all in one shot. Should cover about 5-8 models, I don't have an airbrush so all of my jobs are rattle can. What part of NYS you from? I am from Fingerlakes region, you just got a new subscriber.
