For the current generation I drove and considered both Q5 and X3 two years ago. Decided to stay with Audi Q5 due to its better comfort, more refined and quieter drive, and swifter acceleration of the 2 liter engine. The fuel economy is great frequently hitting over 30 miles highway on regular gas. My wife has a BMW with B58 engine, which is incredible, super swift, precise, and comfortable yet the infotainment is buggy, and the seats less comfortable for long drives. Let’s see how the new generation compares in real life. My biggest gripes are the large single screens and cheaper looking interiors. I owned Mercedes and wouldn’t consider anymore due to reliability.

Both cars looks solid, I like the Audi designs more, plugin hybrids would be the best in both models.

The new X3 is a winner. More aggressive than Q5 and more beautiful exterior. Interior very modern. I think the X3 looks better in dark coulors.

Q5 . Being a current 22x3 owner this is 💩 plastic everywhere. Audi is much better

The interior lighting on the x3 is awful. Q5 way nicer interior. Both are nice outside.

Come on. You’d have to be not too bright to know BMW ain’t gonna let Audi beat them when dealing with their top selling compact suv bread winner!

Awful mowing tablet-cars with battery scrap and cheap plastic everywhere. Keep your good old cars as long as possible.
