Now that you have no furniture, you can think about whether your backs require a comfortable chair for each of you. You could do your lounging on your bed, of course (if you have one) with your back leaning against the wall. Henry Thoreau had a bed with mattress, 3 plain wooden chairs and a desk (or was it a table?) in his cabin in the woods. People walking by would stop to chat; not a bad thing when there's no modern communication like we have. Otherwise I think he would have only 1 chair. In my neighborhood people get rid of chairs, tables, dressers, etc. frequently. So they are free by the dumpster. I could not live without a comfortable chair because of my cranky back. I have looked like a shoe minimalist (I use 1 pair of sneakers and 1 pair of flip flops) for 2 years now but the truth is my feet are very hard to fit. My brother thinks I'm frugal but a lot of consumer goods just don't interest me.

I still use a flip phone, cut my own hair, drive a used 2012 car, and shop at thrift stores. I used to get regular facials and use skin care. But, stopped that!!

Miles 🤩🤩 Cats are natures minimalists….sunbeam, string, and a couple of good hoomans is all any purr needs for a happy life 😂😂 ( BTW Ang, you’re not going grey…you’re going platinum—at least that’s what I tell folks about my hair 😆)

Hello, Gen-X-ers!! 😄😄 Great tips! I stopped having my hair professionally cut 30+ years ago. My husband gives me a good blunt cut below the shoulders every so often. Otherwise I’ve learned how to trim and layer it a bit by watching YouTube. My cosmetic (and skin tonic) of choice is CASTOR OIL. If you research it, you’ll never use anything else again. It is a healing balm and perfect moisturizer. You two are SO Right about moisturizing your skin from the inside out. Besides drinking water, consuming sufficient fats (mostly Olive Oil) is crucial. Incidentally, when I stopped eating butter and switched to olive oil at age 30, ALL unsightly veins in my legs DISAPPEARED COMPLETELY within six months. I’ve never looked back!
I so love the fact that Miles 😸appreciates your proximity to him - that’s a BIG +. For another subject perhaps you could speak about how you apply minimalism in the kitchen and in the preparation of food…. Wishing you prosperity and Abundance Within 😊 -V (a Boomer)

Hi girls(from a 67 lady), always a pleasure to hear and see from you. I have reduced everything sooo much mainly because I got tired of waisting my time. I used to dye my hair every 18 days by myself. I stopped four years ago and now I go to the hairdresser to highlight it. Here where I live is quite quick, on appointment and in less than one hour I'm out

I cut my own hair (Ang and I have the same haircut). The $50 I spent (25 years ago) on a professional clipper was so worth it.

I don’t think I could live without furniture however I do only have soap for my skin and I gave up make up. No t.v. Now if it was just me I could buy less food.my husband of 56 years is a meat eater. I also like my hair color. Grey lol. I love less and I cut my own hair… you girls are great

I wont buy from the likes of Temu and Wish on ethical grounds - plus while the photos of their goods look fantastic, the quality is not. Several friends who have bought from these types of stores have been most disappointed. Waste of money too. So.e of my quality clothes are 30 years old and still look fine, in fact i got compliments on an old tea shirt the other day! 😂

The only thing I do (so far) is I have a bed which is also my couch, a craft table, two chairs and a filing cabinet (for my art supplies, journals and toiletries. I would love to be able to sleep and sit on the floor but at 71, I think it may be a little late to start??
