Iran's Supreme Leader Says Israel “Will Be Slapped” For Air Strike On Damascus Embassy

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on April 3 that Israel "will be slapped" for a suspected airstrike on the Iranian embassy in Damascus on April 1 that killed seven people.

Iran blamed Israel for the attack, which killed two of its generals and five military advisers at its embassy compound in Damascus. Israel has not claimed responsibility for the strike, one of the most significant yet on Iranian interests in Syria.

Iran has avoided direct conflict with Israel during the half-year war against Hamas in Gaza while supporting its allies' attacks on Israeli and U.S. targets.

Monday's airstrike destroyed a consular building adjacent to the main embassy complex in the upscale Mezzeh district of the Syrian capital.

The United Nations of Iran has two parallel governments according to the historical context. The supreme leader، who leads not only Iran but most of the nations of the Middle East. The president is the only direct representative of Iranians. The two regimes each have independent military forces: foreign and domestic. Therefore, Ali Khamenei is basically the representative of the Ummah of Islam, not the Iranians who are mostly secular.
