I saw a trick to help a person remember when their hoses are on. You buy a pack of those spiral hair ties and each hose spigot gets a hair tie. When you turn the hose on, you put the hair tie around your wrist in the hopes that it will remind you a hose is on when you look down at your wrist and go, “What is this spiral hair tie doing on my wrist?”
